Jón Gunnar Jónsson - Iceland
Biography
Jón Gunnar Jónsson is Director General of the Icelandic Transport Authority (ICETRA), appointed in August 2019. Mr Jónsson holds an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iceland. Mr Jónsson worked as managing director within the private sector for many years and operated companies in different businesses. The last was a pharmaceutical company in Iceland operating as a launch site for new products and a scale up from development to commercial manufacturing. Mr Jónsson has been a lecturer at the University of Iceland (Mechanical Engineering Division) and a guest lecturer at several conferences, seminars and university courses through the years.
