Finland - Jari Pontinen

Biography

Jari Pöntinen has served at the Finnish CAA, Traficom, since October 2015. Prior to this he was a pilot for 29 years with a major airline and held various flight ops-related management positions. He still holds a valid airline transport pilot licence (ATPL), A330 type rating and a Class I medical certificate, with 12 700 flight hours. Before taking up his duties in aviation, he graduated from Lappeenranta University of Technology

With his background, flight safety and operations-related topics and issues are very close to Mr Pöntinen's heart. He rates a united European aviation community very high, seeing it as an important backbone for flight safety and security enabling us to work better together with global aviation organisations.
