Biography

Lars Egil de Lange Kobberstad is the current Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority Norway (CAA Norway). Mr Kobberstad was elected for a six-year term and has occupied the position since 15 February 2017.

Mr Kobberstad has more than 25 years of experience in the aviation industry. Previous work includes several leading roles in the Norwegian airline Widerøe’s Flyveselskap, where he also served as CEO from 2008 to 2015. Before joining the CAA Norway, he acted as the CEO of the Norwegian Air Ambulance.

Mr Kobberstad has a master’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Augsburg in Germany. He also completed the Program for Executive Development at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Mr Kobberstad and the Civil Aviation Authority of Norway are continuously working for safer, more efficient and more sustainable aviation in Norway.
