Magnus Gislev - European Commission

Biography

Magnus Gislev has a degree in chemistry and business administration from the University of Karlstad, Sweden. He started in the European Commission in 1995 and joined the Environment Directorate-General in 1999. Mr Gislev was in charge of overseeing the implementation of EU legislation on integrated pollution prevention and control and also took part in the development of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme and the EU Environmental Technologies Action Plan. From 2005 to 2009 he was the EU Environment Counsellor in Beijing, in charge of the EU-China Environment Policy Dialogue and the EU-China Climate Change Partnership. From 2009 to 2013 he was working on international relations in the Environment Directorate-General, and after that he worked on raw materials and circular economy in the Growth Directorate-General. Since August 2019, he has been working in the aviation policy unit of the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport, on environmental matters, in particular within ICAO.
