Building SAF capacity among Ukraine’s scientific community
Kyiv/hybrid, 6 July 2023 — A capacity-building activity on sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) targeting Ukraine’s scientific community was organised with the support of the ECAC Secretariat through participation in a panel during an academic conference held in Kyiv on 3-7 July 2023: “Theory and Practice of the Use of Traditional and Alternative Fuels and Lubricants”.
This conference is a regular feature of Ukraine’s Scientific-Technical Union of Chemotologists, which brings together fuel experts in Ukraine. This year’s event was jointly organised with the International Symposium on Electric Aviation and Autonomous Systems (ISEAS’23), Lukasiewicz Institute of Aviation (Warsaw, 5-7 July 2023), with parallel hybrid sessions in Kyiv and Warsaw.
A two-hour SAF panel and discussion took place on 6 July, with the cooperation and participation of representatives from the ECAC Secretariat, ICAO, EASA, Spain and Ukraine.
Despite the war in Ukraine, more than 40 scientists were in attendance and another 60 experts followed the panel online.
