Sustainable aviation fuels tailored training for the Community of Lusophone Aviation Authorities
Lisbon, 14 July 2023 — ECAC delivered a training on sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) for the Community of Lusophone Aviation Authorities (CAACL), the civil aviation bodies from Portuguese speaking countries. Fifty-six experts from Angola, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea and Portugal attended, with eight following the workshop online.
The training was based on the ECAC guidance on SAF recommendations and included a stakeholders’ SAF policy roundtable discussion. Attention was paid to exploring opportunities for cooperation among the lusophone aviation authorities and States to promote SAF and the development of global supply value-chains.
The activity was organised and hosted by the Portuguese Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) under the ECAC Capacity-Building Programme for Environment, following the steer of ECAC’s Directors General in May 2023 (DGCA/160) to strengthen support to non-ECAC States to promote SAF, particularly in Africa.
