Eddy Liégeois
Head of Unit - Aviation Policy, DG MOVE, European Commission
Eddy Liégeois has been Head of the Aviation Policy Unit at the European Commission since January 2025, in charge of EU policy to promote a competitive, connected and sustainable European aviation market and industry.
Among the files under Eddy’s responsibility, are:
- preparation of the Aviation Strategy planned to be presented by the Commission in autumn 2026;
- revision of the Air Services Regulation and review of the airport package on slots, airport charges and ground handling;
- decarbonisation of aviation, in particular the implementation of RefuelEU Aviation for the uptake of sustainable aviation fuels.
From January 2021 to December 2024, Eddy was the head of the Transport Networks Unit (development of transport infrastructure).
