
Wilhelm Eschweiler

Wilhelm Eschweiler holds a law degree from the University of Bonn and spent two semesters abroad at the University of Lausanne. He completed his first and second State Examination in law and earned his doctorate in 1993.
Wilhelm Eschweiler started his career at the Federal Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in 1992. Over the following years, he worked in a variety of divisions, such as Basic Aspects of Regulation (1998–2002), International Telecommunications and Postal Policy (2002–2006), and European ICT Policy (2007–2014).
In 2014, he was appointed Vice President of the Federal Network Agency with his key areas of responsibility being telecommunications and railways. In 2024, he was appointed Director General for Aviation at the Federal Ministry of Transport.
