Vienna/videoconference, 23 June 2026 — The 13th meeting of the ECAC Network on Diversity and Inclusion in Civil Aviation (NETD&I/13), held in Vienna on 23 June 2026, provided an opportunity to review progress against the deliverables included in the 2025-2027 work programme and discuss emerging priorities for strengthening diversity and inclusion across the aviation sector.
Hosted by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure, participants were welcomed by Thomas Aybay-Stiegmaier on behalf of Peter Hanke, Austrian Federal Minister for Innovation, Mobility, and Infrastructure.
Discussions focused on capacity-building initiatives, recent developments across Member States, and the analysis of the preliminary results of the 2026 ECAC Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Survey.
Members from Austria, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom also shared national case studies and good practices, providing an opportunity to exchange practical experience and reinforce collaboration across the ECAC region.
The meeting welcomed the re-appointment by Directors General of Giovanna Laschena (Italy) for a second mandate as chair of the group and thanked her for her commitment to supporting the activities of the Network.
