The Group on Security Testing unites experts from ECAC Member States to foster cooperation in the field of security testing and enhance the effectiveness of States' security testing programmes.
This is achieved through the following:
- Sharing knowledge and experience between Member States’ security testing experts;
- Exchanging information on lessons learned, trends and developments in security testing;
- Sharing best practices on covert testing, including assessing the effectiveness of screening when advanced security technologies are used;
- Identifying common challenges in developing and conducting covert and overt tests, and developing necessary guidelines and best practices;
- Harmonising testing programmes across Member States;
- Assisting Member States in implementing and improving their covert testing programmes and/or procedures, through mentoring activities;
- Contributing to the implementation of the ECAC Capacity Building Programme through expert input; and
- Providing relevant information and material, when necessary, to support the work of other ECAC security groups.
