Videoconference, 25 November 2025 — The 43rd meeting of the ECAC Aircraft Noise Modelling Task Group (AIRMOD) brought together members to finalise and endorse two significant new ECAC guidance documents: the updated 5th Edition of ECAC Doc 29, and new rotorcraft noise guidance based on NORAH – the “Noise of Rotorcraft Assessed by a Hemisphere-approach” tool developed by EASA.
Participants also reviewed progress and received updates on various topics relevant to tasks delegated to AIRMOD under the ECAC environment work programme.
With AIRMOD having completed its technical work, the updated Doc 29 and the new rotorcraft guidance are now expected to be presented to the European Aviation and Environment Working Group (EAEG) for review. Subject to EAEG’s agreement, the documents will then be forwarded to the Directors General of Civil Aviation of ECAC Member States for formal endorsement, a step expected to take place in early 2026.
