Montreal, 24 September 2025 — Exchanges between the ECAC President and Executive Secretary and the Canadian delegation, led by Félix Munier, Director General of Civil Aviation, and John Velho, Executive Director, International Aviation at Transport Canada, reaffirmed mutual support and a shared commitment to closer cooperation in areas of common interest.
Discussions focused on capacity building for facilitation and security, as well as on assistance to victims of air accidents and their families. Transport Canada expressed appreciation for the support provided by ECAC and the EU through the EU-funded and ECAC-implemented CASE II Project to the Safe Skies initiative in 2025.
ECAC also presented its capacity-building activities, highlighting how Member States work together to strengthen expertise across international civil aviation domains.
