Videoconference, 26 May 2026 — Members of the Economic Working Group held an online information session aimed at increasing understanding of the range of taxes and charges applied across ECAC Member States.
Consideration was given to issues of transparency and the different approaches taken by States and industry stakeholders. Participants recognised that while general taxation topics fall outside the aviation sector’s scope, understanding the impacts of aviation taxes and charges is important for supporting competitiveness and growth.
The session featured presentations by guest experts from IATA and ACI EUROPE, who shared information on industry data on aviation taxes and charges and highlighted the challenges involved in effective and accurate data capture. The group agreed to consider the session’s key points at its next meeting in the autumn, with a view to identifying potential future areas of work.
