Videoconference, 7-8 October 2025 — ECAC’s Technical Task Force recently met online to assess progress on the implementation of the group’s 2025 work programme.
They noted the completion of several tasks to be presented to the Security Programme Management Group, including proposals for 3D image quality requirements for security equipment.
Two new Threat Image Projection (TIP) guidance documents were also endorsed, and the task force agreed on the deliverables to be included in the 2026 work programme, which will focus on simulant validation and common routine testing methodologies.
The meeting was chaired for the first time by Para Paranthaman (Norway), who assumed the role of chair on 1 October 2025 for a first mandate of three years. The task force also welcomed Australia as a new observer State.
